Maternity Clothes?

Well, I am getting to the point where I really need to start wearing maternity clothes now. I have some outfits from when I was pregnant with Saryn but I need more jeans and casual tops.

Most of my shopping for maternity clothes with Saryn was done at Kohl's, Target, Motherhood Maternity & Old Navy. This time around I'm not seeing much of anything in the stores. It seems the stores just don't have much too choose from. Maybe they've decided to go to ordering online instead of having their items in stock at the stores. Normally I don't do so well ordering online but I might just have to give it a go. Although, I haven't been to Target yet - hopefully I'll hit the jackpot there! If anyone has another other places to go to, please let me know!

If Saryn hears anyone talk about a baby she immediately tells them that "mommy baby in tummy" and sometimes even comes over to pull my shirt up to show them. :) Thankfully, I have quick reflexes and no one has been able to "see the baby" yet. :)

No cravings for me yet although I wish I was having some. If anything, nothing really sounds good to me so what to make for meals is getting kind of difficult. When I was pregnant with Saryn I ate what I was craving weither I was hungry or not. After I had Saryn I had a really hard time with what to eat because I was so used to having huge cravings for food. What do you eat if you aren't craving anything?! With this pregnancy I pretty much make myself eat something because I'm hungry. Maybe I won't gain as much weight this time - we'll have to see about that one! :)

Hope you have a Merry Christmas!

Week 16

Well, things have been relatively quiet over the past month with my pregnancy. We have had some testing done and so far everything with the baby is normal. Phew!

I'm not feeling sick anymore, although I need to make sure I eat and drink enough or I do have a tendency to start gagging. ;) Not pleasant, especially out in public so I always try to keep some food and a beverage handy!!

The baby is supposed to be the size of an apple now. And that means that most of my pants are starting to get a little tight. I'm not quite ready to make that transition into maternity clothes quite yet but I don't think I'll be able to hold off until after Christmas like I had hoped.

Here's the little more info about what's been going on:

How far along? 16 weeks
Total weight gain: 7 pounds
Maternity clothes? Not yet but will probably need them in a few weeks
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Almost back to my normal sleep pattern. Some days I need a nap or go to bed early but not as often. ;)
Best moment this week: Hearing from the doctor that the baby is doing fine.
Movement: I think so. Much earlier than when I first felt Saryn move.
Food cravings: No real cravings yet. If something sounds good I eat it!
Gender: Not sure and we won't find out until after Christmas.
Name: Haven't talked about it yet
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In
What I miss: Drinking Rum in my Egg Nog. lol!
Weekly Wisdom: Be around happy/positive people - they make you feel good!
Milestones: Happy to be in the second trimester.

Week 13

I am out of the first trimester and feeling much better. As long as I remember to eat and drink plenty of water I feel fine. Even though I'm out of the first trimester I am still having to be mindful of what I eat. This baby doesn't seem to like sweet stuff too much as every time I eat sweets I start to feel sick. Bummer!

Most of what I am craving is unhealthy food - burgers, fries, pizza etc. I'm making myself eat fruit and vegetables everyday but I'm not really wanting them! I am craving bagels & hard boiled eggs - same as with Saryn's pregnancy.

I need much more sleep with this baby - on a typical night I get about 10 hours of sleep and most days need a nap too. If I get less sleep than that I usually have a rough day so it's better for everyone if I get my sleep! ;)

I've still only gained 4 pounds but I'm starting to get a tiny baby bump. No maternity clothes yet and it looks like I'll need to buy more this time around. A lot of my clothes from before are dressy as I was working a lot. I'm not working as much now so I'll need to grab some more casual tops when the time comes. Hopefully that won't be until late December or January though! I'm going to put that off as long as I can!

Hope you had a great weekend!

12 weeks

This pregnancy has been very different from Saryn's. I didn't have any pregnancy symptoms with Saryn except a little bit of fatigue. With this pregnancy I seem to have it all. Morning sickness, extreme fatigue, headaches - whew, it's been rough! I started to feel better around 9 weeks and now at 12 weeks I feel MUCH better! I still get the headaches and tire easily but the morning sickness is gone. If I forget to eat I get myself in trouble but other than that I feel much better!

We went to have the 12 week ultrasound yesterday. We took Saryn with us for lack of other options and I'm so glad we did! Jordan held her up so she could see the monitor. He kept pointing out the baby and explaining that was the baby in my tummy. For the first time she actually seemed to get it!

We could see the baby moving around and this time it actually looked like a baby. We could see the hands and feet, head and tummy. Saryn would point to the monitor and say "baby" then look at my tummy trying to figure out how this was happening!

I think we'll definitely take her to the 20 week ultrasound appointment as well. She did a really good job yesterday and liked seeing the baby!

I still have only gained 4 pounds total with this pregnancy. I haven't need to get out any maternity clothes but I do prefer pants that are a little looser fit. ;)

Still no cravings or food aversions yet - again something that is different from Saryn's pregnancy. I'm actually kind of glad I'm not having cravings or aversions - it makes things much easier! Although, one thing is the same - I can't tolerate spicy food! ;)

We've changed OBGYN's and are much happier with this practice! This doctor doesn't over book her appointments so I'm not waiting for 1 hour for a 5 minute appointment. And she isn't making me feel rushed if I have questions. The lady at the front desk and the nurses are nice too! So far so good!

Baby duggan #2!!

I used this blog when I was pregnant with Saryn so I thought I would use it again since I am pregnant with baby number 2! Not much is going on right now - still kind of early so not a whole lot to share. I saw this on another blog so I thought I'd put it here to let you know how things are going so far.

How far along? 11 1/2 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: I've gained 4 pounds
Maternity clothes? Nope, not yet
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Needing lots of it. I'm back to napping when Saryn naps. I have been able to go a few days a week without a nap but that's only been very recent. ;)
Best moment this week: One day where I didn't feel sick at all!
Movement: no
Food cravings: Not really having cravings - or aversions yet.
Gender: Not sure. This pregnancy is different so far from Saryn's but other than that we have no idea.
Name: Not a clue
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In
What I miss: Waking up and feeling good. ;)
Weekly Wisdom: Sleep if you feel tired!
Milestones: Not sure I'm having any milestones yet.

More to come soon!
