Week 13

I am out of the first trimester and feeling much better. As long as I remember to eat and drink plenty of water I feel fine. Even though I'm out of the first trimester I am still having to be mindful of what I eat. This baby doesn't seem to like sweet stuff too much as every time I eat sweets I start to feel sick. Bummer!

Most of what I am craving is unhealthy food - burgers, fries, pizza etc. I'm making myself eat fruit and vegetables everyday but I'm not really wanting them! I am craving bagels & hard boiled eggs - same as with Saryn's pregnancy.

I need much more sleep with this baby - on a typical night I get about 10 hours of sleep and most days need a nap too. If I get less sleep than that I usually have a rough day so it's better for everyone if I get my sleep! ;)

I've still only gained 4 pounds but I'm starting to get a tiny baby bump. No maternity clothes yet and it looks like I'll need to buy more this time around. A lot of my clothes from before are dressy as I was working a lot. I'm not working as much now so I'll need to grab some more casual tops when the time comes. Hopefully that won't be until late December or January though! I'm going to put that off as long as I can!

Hope you had a great weekend!

12 weeks

This pregnancy has been very different from Saryn's. I didn't have any pregnancy symptoms with Saryn except a little bit of fatigue. With this pregnancy I seem to have it all. Morning sickness, extreme fatigue, headaches - whew, it's been rough! I started to feel better around 9 weeks and now at 12 weeks I feel MUCH better! I still get the headaches and tire easily but the morning sickness is gone. If I forget to eat I get myself in trouble but other than that I feel much better!

We went to have the 12 week ultrasound yesterday. We took Saryn with us for lack of other options and I'm so glad we did! Jordan held her up so she could see the monitor. He kept pointing out the baby and explaining that was the baby in my tummy. For the first time she actually seemed to get it!

We could see the baby moving around and this time it actually looked like a baby. We could see the hands and feet, head and tummy. Saryn would point to the monitor and say "baby" then look at my tummy trying to figure out how this was happening!

I think we'll definitely take her to the 20 week ultrasound appointment as well. She did a really good job yesterday and liked seeing the baby!

I still have only gained 4 pounds total with this pregnancy. I haven't need to get out any maternity clothes but I do prefer pants that are a little looser fit. ;)

Still no cravings or food aversions yet - again something that is different from Saryn's pregnancy. I'm actually kind of glad I'm not having cravings or aversions - it makes things much easier! Although, one thing is the same - I can't tolerate spicy food! ;)

We've changed OBGYN's and are much happier with this practice! This doctor doesn't over book her appointments so I'm not waiting for 1 hour for a 5 minute appointment. And she isn't making me feel rushed if I have questions. The lady at the front desk and the nurses are nice too! So far so good!
